Mandla DUBE

Mandlakayise Walter DUBE is an award-winning South African director, screenwriter and producer. His diverse body of work encompasses feature films, documentaries and theatre.

Mandla DUBE’s contributions to film and television as Director include amazing live action films Heart of the Hunter (2024), Silverton Siege (2022) and Kalushi – The Story of Solomon Mahlangu (2016), which garnered global acclaim.

Mandla DUBE is the Director of The Great War, a four-hour cinematic documentary which premiered in May 2024 on History Channel in the U.S. and globally.

Mandla’s work in feature films as camera operator & camera assistant include The Italian Job, Men in Black II, Money Monster, Drop Squad and Umthunzi we Ntaba.

He directed both seasons of the documentary series Echoes in the Valley of the Mapungubwe.

Mandla DUBE was the cinematographer on the multi award winning docudrama, Sobukwe: A Great Soul.

Born in Mabopane South Africa, MANDLAKAYISE WALTER DUBE obtained a Master of Fine Arts in cinematography from the AFI, in Los Angeles.
